For our students， marks is above everything. Teachers will judge us from our marks. With marks we can be enrolled into junior middle schools. Still with marks we can be graded and be allowed to go abroad for further studies. Our parents will be strict with us with the marks. Our society judge us from marks. But what attitude towards our marks should we take？
Truly， marks functions cannot be underestimated. In terms of test in our study， marks are fair and real. That is the reason why we say ＂Everyone is equal before marks. ＂
However， I think marks are the sole standard to judge the success or failure of students in exams. Sometimes， marks more than ten or less than one or two in our exams comparing with others mean not everything. But his teaching result is much less than that of the one who just graduated from a not-well-renowned college. When lecturing， the teacher only repeated what the text-books says， which was very dull so the his students’ interest in learning was not aroused. His teaching was short of unity of teaching and learning. At present there is a fact that we know a few brilliant and top college graduates are not qualified for their posts. 'good morning teacher !' instead of fooling around, the children were thirsty for knowledge and efficient in absorbing everything i was able to give them. this made me despise myself for i hadn't even prepared for the class. during the break. i leaned over the squeaky desk, chatting with a sweaty boy in the front row. as summer advanced. my enthusiasm as a teacher grew. i prepared my lesson carefully and even used some methods my teachers used. i organized many group activities to give the kids fun. strangely enough the heat was also becoming less and less unbearable. soon, my one-month volunnteer came to an end. when i was leaving my last class, i turned back and saw smiling faces and waving hands. never before had i ever had such a feeling of sadness. which was, nevertheless, mixed with a sense of enrichment, fulfillment and happiness. i was paid for my work, amply paid, not in terms of money, but something more valuable.
my english was improved, i was able to teach it, although not very professional. i learned about the grassroots-level society. inside myself a heart is growing. a heart that not only beats for myself. but cares for others as well. the volunteer work gave me a precious little chance of saying thanks. to people like the little boy's father who construct highways and undergrounds, build up modern skyscrapers, and make our cities more and more beautiful. to help the children with their english was all i could do at present to show my gratitude to these unsung heroes. the world may not have been fair to them. so privileged and blessed people like me make their life better. whatever i do for them, however, i know it can't be compared with what they have done to improve the quality of life in our cities. ladies and gentlemen. now i realize that voluntary shouldn't be just a one-time personal experience. it should be a lifetime activity of everybody. many of us are now offering assistance to the needy and to each other and our efforts have indeed made a difference schooling,---- or caring for the elderly in nursing homes, and helping out in 20xx beijing olympics, will not only contribute to the harmony of the world but elevate ourselves as well. emerson once said, "it's one of the most beautiful compensations of this life no man can sincerely try to help another without helping himself" he was right. i hear that my university is going to organize another voluntary teaching program this summer. this time i won't be dragged in. i will volunteer. thank you !

Good morning! I am very glad to stand here and share the topic of “youth” with you. I come from and my name is maxfu. Today my topic is “Melody of Youth”.
Some people say that youth is a rising sun, carries infinite hope and irradiates dazzling light.
Some people say that youth is a ball of blaze, flickers the flame of passion, dances the melody of youth.
Some people say that youth is a roaring river, bursts out the voice of confidence, flows the boldness of youth.
Some people say that youth is a fresh willow, has not only the endless tenderness, but also the iron will.
It’s true. Youth is ought to be a life with great persistence, which is full of hope, enthusiasm, assurance, belief and keep striving during all your life.
Since we know how wonderful the youth is, how can we build our own youth wonderful?
Firstly, I think you should set an ambition. Sam Walton has told us: High expectation is the key to everything. Ideals are the navigation mark and ambitions are the power for our striving.
Secondly, I think you should think more. Look before you leap, we are impetuous, if we consider everything calmly; there’s nothing that we can not do successfully.
Thirdly, I think you should work hard. An idle youth， a needy age. When we are young we are supposed to struggle, to do everything by ourselves so that we can get more experience for our future. As it’s said the beautiful rainbow always appears after a ding-on and the wealthy harvest always comes from laborious tillage.
Lastly, I think you should have a mood of optimism. Being positive, when we meet the frustration, can help us learn how to he stronger. Cause we are young, there’s no fail if only we try it again. Don’t get dizzy with success, and don’t get upset with failure.
By the way, being in youth doesn’t only mean you are young at your age. Youth is not a time of life, it is a state of mind. When the aerials are down , and your spirit is covered with snows of cynicism and the ice of pessimism, then you are grown old ,even at 20 , but as long as your aerials are up ,to catch waves of optimism , there is hope you may die young at 80.
Youth is a painting, which engraves by magnificent and wonderful color. Youth is a song, which resounds with brightness and sweetness. When we are provided with passion and calm consideration, clinging goals and keep striving during all of our life. We can sooner or later have a perfect youth, a regretless youth, and make our melody of youth more and more wonderful!

如此的青春既然這么美好，我們到底應(yīng)當(dāng)如何去打造呢?
首先，青春需要目標(biāo)。沃爾頓曾說過：“遠(yuǎn)大的理想是開啟萬物的鑰匙。”理想是我們前進(jìn)的航標(biāo)，目標(biāo)是我們奮斗的動(dòng)力。
其次，青春需要思考。三思而后行，年輕的我們是血?dú)夥絼偟囊淮?dāng)我們用冷靜的思考去面對人生中的一切，還有什么事做不成、辦不到的呢!
再者，青春需要努力。少壯不努力，老大徒傷悲。年輕的時(shí)代，就是一個(gè)應(yīng)當(dāng)努力奮斗的年代，通過自己的打拼去積累今后的人生閱歷，去歷練自己。要知道迷人的彩虹出自大雨的洗禮，豐碩的果實(shí)來自辛勤的耕耘。
最后，青春需要有良好的心態(tài)。做任何事情都要一個(gè)好的心態(tài)，遇到了挫折就要學(xué)會堅(jiān)強(qiáng)，因?yàn)榍啻簺]有失敗，只要你再次努力。有一句話叫做“得一時(shí)淡然，失一時(shí)坦然。”
青春是一幅畫，鐫刻著瑰麗、浪漫的色彩;青春是一首歌，回蕩著歡快、美妙的旋律。當(dāng)我們用青春的激情，冷靜的思考，執(zhí)著的追求朝著遠(yuǎn)大的目標(biāo)不懈努力之后，我想我們一定能夠打造出一個(gè)美好的青春，一個(gè)無悔的青春，讓我們的青春旋律更加絢爛多彩!

I am very glad to stand here to give thier a short speech.Today my topic is that the youth are the future of motherland
很高興站在這里做這篇短小的演講，我演講的主題是青年是祖國的未來。
When preparing for the English speech contest, I simply want to search some articles as the contents of my speech. I read a lot of articles, some from the university professor, some from the famous host, some from the college students, and even from junior high school students. But after reading it, I gave up the idea, I even felt shameful. Today,the topic I want to talk about is a solemn and serious theme full of glory and pride, which is a common aspiration of all our Chinese. Every Chinese has his own dream of China, and of course, there is a dream lingering in my heart only belongs to my own.

However,We don't know what time to start,We are grow up,Life became not the same, though we don’t want to admit, it’s the truth that our mind and attitude to our country is changing. Our society became full of deception, indifference, intrigue, pressure, corruption, sinister, and we became irritable and not calm, detest the world and its ways. Our country seems to have become in a disastrous state too. A lot of young students who were nurtured by our motherland became impatient, let alone what are their dreams , what is the china dream ?
這，是我們最初的中國夢。最真誠的我們，最真誠的夢。
但是，不知道什么時(shí)候開始，我們長大了，生活似乎一下子變得和以前不太一樣了，與此同時(shí)，雖然我們很不想承認(rèn)但是卻又不得不承認(rèn)的是，我們的思想，我們的為人處世觀，我們對我們祖國的看法，也潛移默化中慢慢開始了轉(zhuǎn)變。我們的社會變得到處充滿欺騙、冷漠、勾心斗角、壓力、腐敗、險(xiǎn)惡，我們變得暴躁，不冷靜，憤世嫉俗。我們的國家，似乎也開始變得千瘡百孔。而好多我們親愛的祖國委以重任培養(yǎng)的青年學(xué)生們變得輕浮、急躁，更別提什么夢想，什么中國夢了?
I was surprised ,when the old man fell down in the street,We are afraid to help him.I was disappointed ,when someone do good things were reported,many people think he was affectation, I was sad,when I saw many of young people become indifferent ,fraud and lack of ideal.
Are we sick, or is our dear motherland sick?
我很驚訝，當(dāng)大街上有老人摔倒，我們不敢再去扶起;我很難過，當(dāng)有人做了好事被報(bào)道，更多的人說他做作;我很傷心，當(dāng)我看到我們眾多的青年人變得冷漠、市儈、欺詐以及缺乏理想。
到底是我們病了，還是我們親愛的祖國病了?
I don't want to talk about the construction of our country politics, and also speak impassioned speech on the Diaoyu Island event .I just want to appeal young people,showing the side of youth,good and confidence.We must learn to organize our own thoughts, correct our own concept, and change our direction to the right side in future life. China dream actually lies in our young generation, especially of the intellectuals.

Perhaps the strength of a person is small, but when his or her fate is connected with the motherland, he or she will be hero or heroine. Perhaps a dream is tiny, but when it becomes the dream of a country, it becomes inestimable. Perhaps I cannot change our country by my own, but if thousands and thousands of young people struggle for the dream together, our motherland is enough to make the world shock.
也許，一個(gè)人，是渺小的;但是當(dāng)他和祖國聯(lián)系起來時(shí)，就是偉大的。也許，一個(gè)夢想，是渺小的，但是當(dāng)它成為祖國的夢想時(shí)，就是不可估量的。也許，我無法用自己一個(gè)人的力量撬起整個(gè)中國，但是我們千千萬萬年輕人一起為祖國的夢想去奮斗時(shí)，我們的祖國就足以令世界顫抖、動(dòng)容。
I dream to construct our beauty China with millions of young people who have the same dream. We do it without exaggeration but only with persistence.

In the center of your heart and my heart there is a wireless station: so long as it receives messages of beauty, hope, cheer, courage and power from men and from the Infinite, so long are you young.

the cynics say we care for nothing other than grades; and we neglect the need for character cultivation. but again, the cynics are wrong. we care deeply for each other, we cherish freedom, we treasure justice, and we seek truth. last week, thousands of my fellow students had their blood type tested in order to make a contribution for the children who suffer from blood cancer.
as college students, we are adolescents at the critical turning point in our lives. we all face a fundamental choice: cynicism or faith, each will profoundly impact our future, or even the future of our country. i believe in all my fellow classmates. though we are still inexperienced and even a little bit childish. i believe that we have the courage and faith to meet any challenge and take on our responsibilities. we are preparing to assume new responsibilities and tasks, and to use the education we have received to make our world a better place. i believe in our future.
