二、教學(xué)過(guò)程
Step 1 Revision
1 Check the -ing form of the verbs learnt so far: help, take, carry, think, catch, mend, have, drink, eat, ride, fly make, jump, sing, go, come, work, read, write, listen, clean, give, put, swim, get, play ski, skate. Pay special attention to getting, putting and swimming as well as the -ing form of verbs ending in silent e.
2 Revise What are you doing? I'm reading a book, etc.
Step 2 Presentation
1 Get a student to perform some actions silently. (You could give the student a card with a list of actions on it.) Ask the class What's he / she doing? Help the class to answer I think he /she's …. See if any students can tell a story through actions, e.g. opening the door, sitting in a chair, reading a book, eating, drinking, watching TV, cleaning the room.
2 Repeat the above procedures, but ask the class Is he / she reading / writing… ? Help the students to answer Yes, he / she is. or No, he / she isn't. Note that the question should be in the rising tone.
3 Teach sleeping, cooking, and standing by having a student act these actions out and the class guessing.
Step 3 Ask and answer
SB Page 22, Part 1. In pairs, students ask and answer questions about each picture. Walk around the class and give help when needed. Now repeat the exercise with the words covered. Note that when adding -ing to verbs like put, sit, run, swim, etc., do not forget to double the final consonant.
Step 4 Presentation
Perform an action (e.g. cleaning the house) and get the students to guess what you are doing, by asking Are you making a cake? Write Are you…? on the Bb. Answer No, I'm not. Now have a student come and perform an action. You could give him / her a card with an instruction about what to do, for example, playing with a yo-yo, swimming, etc. The class tries to guess what he / she's doing by asking, Are you sleeping? etc. If the students don't know the English word, have them give the Chinese word and then write the English word on the Bb. For example, the students say 跳舞 and you write dancing on the Bb.
Step 5 Listen and answer
SB Page 22, Part 2, Listening Cassette Lesson 82. Let the students read the questions in the Wb Lesson 86, Ex. 1 before playing the tape.
Listening Text
A: Hi, Bill! Can you come out and play football with me?
B: Sorry, I can't.
A: What are you doing?
B: Look. I'm doing my homework.
A: Is Jim in?
B: Yes.
A: What's he doing? Is he doing his homework, too?
B: Let me see. No, he's making a plane.
The answers are: 1 He is doing his homework.
2 He is making a plane. 3 No, they can't.
Step 6 Game
SB Page 22, Part 3*. This part is optional. Read through the parts with the students and get them to play the game in Step 4. Now divide the class into small groups of 4-6. One person in the group performs an action on the list, and the others in the group try to guess. Once they guess, it's another student's turn to perform an action. By using small groups, everyone in the class is able to participate in this activity. Encourage students to invent actions with verbs they know.
Step 7 Workbook
SB Page 96, Wb Lesson 82, E. 2 - 4. Ex: 2 provides a chance to learn the -ing form of most of the verbs taught so far. If possible, you may ask them to make up verb phrases with these verbs.
Ex. 3 can be assigned as homework.
Do Ex. 4 orally in class. Note that in Chinese, the verb is not inflected.
Homework
Write E. 2 and 3 in the exercise book.

2.能力目標(biāo):
能夠用現(xiàn)在進(jìn)行時(shí)造句。
二、教學(xué)過(guò)程
Step 1 Revision
1 Revise the plural forms of nouns. Divide the class into halves: They take turns to ask each member of the other team to spell the plural form of a noun.
For example:
A: Basket.
B: Baskets, b-a-s-k-e-t-s.
Team B scores a point.
2 Revise verbs like eat, think, read, write, etc. Get the students to give plurals such as, eat some bread, and read English books, etc.
3 Revise Do it like this / that.
Step 2 Presentation
1 Teach What are you doing? Explain that it refers to what a person is doing at the moment. Present this monologue, performing the actions as you speak: What am I doing? I'm eating/drinking/
swimming/opening/closing the door, etc. Perform the actions again, and this time have the students ask, What are you doing? Tell the students to perform actions, e.g. Count the books please. While the student is counting, ask What are you doing? Help him / her to answer I'm counting the books. Get all the students to read a book. Ask What are you doing? Help them to answer I'm reading a book. Tell them to perform other actions, e.g. Clean the room / Write / Listen to me, etc.
2 In pairs have student A act out doing something while student B asks What are you doing? Have student A answer I'm …ing. Switch parts.
Step 3 Read and act
SB Page 21, Part 1, Speech Cassette Lesson 81. Students listen and repeat. Have them practise in pairs, performing the actions. They should extend the dialogue as much as they can using (e.g.) I want some help. I can't find my book. Choose several pairs to act in front of the class.
Step 4 Presentation
Ask one girl student who is good at drawing to come up to the Bb and draw a picture. While she is drawing, ask What is she doing? Have the students answer She's drawing a picture. Now have half the class clean the classroom. As they are cleaning, ask the other students, What are they doing? Have the students answer, They're cleaning the classroom.
Step 5 Say and number
SB Page 21, Part 2, Speech Cassette Lesson 81. Section 1. This section focuses on the singular, while Section 2 focuses on the plural. Books closed! Play the tape. Students have to perform the correct action when they hear, e.g. I'm thinking. See who can get the action right! Then books open! Play the tape again. Students listen and repeat. Then, in pairs, they number the pictures. Check the answers.
Section 2. Follow the same procedures as for Section 1. However, before playing the tape, put the class into small groups. Then have the students perform the action as they hear it as a group.
Step 6 Practice
Students work in pairs asking each other questions about the ten pictures. Call out some students to ask the class questions about the pictures.
Step 7 Workbook
SB Page 95, Wb Lesson 81, E. 1 and 2. Do Ex. 1 orally first and write down the answers after class. In pairs, do Ex. 2. Check some pairs in class. Ask students to think of more verbs ending in silent e (love, like, take, close, etc.).
Homework
Revise the new language in SB Lesson 81.
Write down the answers to Ex. 1 in the exercise book.

3. In pairs, have the students read the passage to each other. Instruct the students that only one student should read at a time, while the other student listens for stress, intonation and pronunciation. Then switch.
4 Do Wb Ex. 3, SB Page 98.
Step 9 Checkpoint 21
Go through Checkpoint 21 with the students. Encourage them to ask questions if there is anything they are not sure about. Revise the spelling of verbs with the -ing ending. See the grammar notes of the SB on the Present Continuous Tense, Pages 178-179.
Step 10 Test
Dictation. Give the students a short dictation. Say a verb, e.g. ride, read, sing, etc. The students have to write down the correct -ing form. Then dictate a few sentences in the Present Continuous Tense.
Step 11 Workbook
SB Page 98, Wb Lesson 84, Ex. 4. Have the students work in pairs. Encourage them to say more than five sentences if they can. Choose several pairs to share their answers.
Ex. 5 can be given as homework.

Homework
