step1. ask students to do“think about it”
how often do you make phone calls to your friend?
is it hard to understand your friends when they speak english? if so, what can you ask them to do?
step2. play the audiotape, ask the students to read the text after the ta pe.
step3. explain the following :
1.打電話用語:
在用英語打電話時,如果要問對方“你是……嗎?”一般用:
is that/this…?
is that/this…speaking?
其中that 表示打電話的另一方。不能說are you …?回答時也要說:
yes, this is…speaking.
yes, …is speaking.是的,我是……(在講話)。
no, it isn’t. he/s he isn’t here at the moment. 不,不是。他/她此刻不在。
要某人接電話一般用:
can i speak to …, please?
may i speak to …, please?
could i speak to …, please?請問我可以和…講話嗎 ?
回答是:certainly./sure./of course.當然可以。
hold on, please./a moment ,please./wait a minute, please.請稍等。
i’m afraid he isn’t here right now.恐怕他這會兒不在。
2.i would love to speak english with your friends.
would love to do sth.=would li ke to do sth=want to do sth. 想要做… would經常可縮寫成’d.
he encourages her. 他鼓勵她。
encourage是及物動詞,意為“鼓勵”。常用于encourage sb to do sth. 鼓勵某人做某事。例:my teacher encourages me to study english hard.
老師鼓勵我努力學英語。
i’m sorry, i can’t follow you. 抱歉,我聽不明白你說的話。
follow 在該句中意為“明白 ,聽懂”,該句在含義上 相當與i’m sorry, i can’t understand you.
