名詞性從句

1.  誤：the question is if they can work out the difficult math problem.
正：the question is whether they can work out the difficult math problem.
[點撥]：引導主語從句、表語從句時，常用whether不用if。又如：
whether tom goes with us makes no difference.
what the doctor really doubts is whether my mother will recover from the serious illness.
2.  誤：that he said surprised all of us .
正：what he said surprised all of us .
[點撥]：what引導主語從句并在主語從句中作said的賓語。當that引導主語從句時，不作句子成份，只起連接作用。
3.  誤：i believe no matter what he says .
正：i believe whatever he says .
[點撥]：whatever在這里引導賓語從句，no matter what只能引導狀語從句。
4.  誤：he asked how much should he pay the doctor.
正：he asked how much he should pay the doctor.
[點撥]：一般來說，賓語從句的語序是陳述句語序。
5.   誤：who leaves the room last should lock the door .
正：whoever leaves the room last should lock the door .
[點撥]：who可以引導主語從句，但往往具有疑問的意義；而whoever則沒有疑問的意義，相當于anyone who 。
6.  誤：he wants to become a friend of whomever shares the same interest.
正：he wants to become a friend of whoever shares the same interest.
[點撥]：whoever引導賓語從句并在從句中作主語，故不能用whomever 。
7.  誤：it all depends on if they will support us .
正：it all depends on whether they will support us .
[點撥]：they will support us 在句中作depends on的賓語，故用whether，而不用if引導。
8.  誤：the reason why he didn’t come is because his mother was ill.
正：the reason why he didn’t come is that his mother was ill.
[點撥]：the reason why … is …句型中，應用that 引導表語從句，表示“……的原因是……”。不能用because引導。
9.  誤：we didn’t know if or not she was ready to start work .
正：we didn’t know whether or not she was ready to start work .
[點撥]：whether引導賓語從句時可以和or not 連用，而if則不能。
10.  誤：he is famous as an english teacher is well known.
正：that he is famous as an english teacher is well known.
[點撥]：that引導主語從句時不能省略。
11.  誤：that really interested the children was how to use the computer.
正：what really interested the children was how to use the computer.
[點撥]：what引導主語從句在從句中作主語，而that引導主語從句時，不作句子成分，也沒有任何含義。
12.  誤：the man asked his son where he found his glasses.
正：the man asked his son where he had found his glasses.
[點撥]：賓語從句中動詞find的動作是在主句動詞ask之前發(fā)生的，因此要用過去完成時來表達。
13.  誤：all what they need is enough time to prepare for the examination.
