剖析:引導賓語從句時,if和whether常可以互換,但有些情況是不能互換的?穴當從句中提出了兩種選擇,或從句位于介詞后面,只能用whether?雪。

二. 語序錯誤
例1:he wanted to know_______.
a. when would the holiday begin     b. that he had come back from beijing
c. which one did i like best         d. how he could get to the station
錯解:a/c;正解:d
剖析:賓語從句必須用陳述句語序。

例2:i wonder____.
a. who broke the window     b. who the window broke
c. whose coat is this         d. what is the population of china
錯解:b;正解:a
剖析:b貌似陳述句語序,但在這里連接詞who是從句的主語,而不是the window。

三. 結構錯誤
例: i don’t know________.
a. which room i can live    b. which room can i live
c. which room i can live in  d. which room can i live in
錯解:a;正解:c
剖析:如果連接詞在賓語從句中充當不及物動詞后介詞的賓語,并被放到從句句首時,不及物動詞后的介詞不能少。

四. 時態錯誤
例1:long, long ago, people didn’t know the earth___ round the sun.
a. moving         b. moved         c. moves           d. went
錯解:b/d;正解:c
剖析:在學習賓語從句時,我們知道主從句的時態要考慮“一致”的原則。但當從句表示的是科學真理、格言、客觀事實或其他不受時間限制、影響而客觀存在的事物時,賓語從句的動詞時態不受主句時態的限制,仍可用一般現在時。

例2:could you tell me_______?
a. how i can get to the post office       b. how can i get to the post office
c. how could i get to the post office     d. how i could get to the post office
錯解:d;正解:a
剖析:主句中的could在這里不是表示過去時態,而是表示語氣的委婉。
