1. i’m far too busy to go shopping. 我實在太忙了不能去購物。
too… to…太…不能…
far 在這里起強調作用，表示“很，非常”
e.g. she is far too tired to walk on.
2. then i’ll have lunch and a little sleep between 2 and 7. 接著我吃午飯，然后在2點到7點之間小睡一會兒。
sleep在句中做名詞，表示‘睡眠’， a sleep表示‘一段時間的睡眠’。
e.g. i don’t have enough sleep.
3. a dog’s work is never done. 狗的活兒從來都干不完。
be done 被動語態，“被干完”。
e.g. the cars are made in shanghai.

send out “發送，傳播”
e.g. the sun can send out light and heat.
2. something that controls a machine from a distance 從遠處控制機器的東西
a distance 一個遠的地方，一個遠處。 distance，名詞，表示“遠處”。
reading
1. a weekly round-up of what is happening in sport, with lots of up-to-date information.綜述一周體育事件，為你提供大量的最新體壇動態。
weekly 每周一次的
e.g. a weekly magazine
they are doing the weekly cleaning.
up-to-date 最新的， 其反義詞是out of date.
e.g. the book is up-to-date.
this ticket is out of date.
2. there are also a number of interviews with the famous football players. 還有許多對著名球員的采訪。
a number of “許多，大量”，修飾可數名詞的復數形式，相當于many，動詞用復數。
e.g. a number of students are playing on the playground.
the number of …的數量， 動詞用單數。
e.g. the number of students in our class is 42.
now the number of the traffic accidents is increasing.
3. this year’s beijing music awards will be covered live. 本年度北京音樂頒獎大會將進行實況轉播。
will be covered live 將來時的被動語態。
一般將來時的被動結構是： will be + v. ed.
e.g. the meeting will be held tomorrow.
4. murder in a country house is a horror film directed by cindy clark, a new director.
《鄉村小屋謀殺案》是一位由新導演辛迪·克拉客導演的恐怖片。
directed by… 是過去分詞短語做定語，修飾film。
5. this film is excellent and is full of horror and mysteries. 這部電影很精彩，而且充滿了恐怖和神秘色彩。
be full of … 充滿…，裝滿…；類似的詞組有 be filled with
