cause vs. reason
cause指導(dǎo)致某種行為、產(chǎn)生某種結(jié)果的或事物, 通常與介詞of 連用reason指通過邏輯判斷推出來得理由,指發(fā)生某事的緣由或借口, 常與介詞for連用
eg.1) heat is the cause of the expansion of matter.2) give your reason for changing the plan.

impress vt. :to fill someone with admiration or respect 使感動, 使欽佩
impress … on… 把…印在…上impress sth. on sb.impress sb. with sth. be impressed by/at/with被…所感動, 印入腦海
eg.1.

my father impressed on me the value of hard work.

what he said that day was deeply impressed on my memory. impression n. 印象.leave or make a (an) impression on sb.
