第一步 聽力導入
introduce something about qian xuesen.
he was born in 1911. he lived and studied for many years in the usa but returned to china in 1955. he has made great contribution to the science development of china. he is one of the best-known scientists in china and is called “the father of the chinese space programme”.
第二步 聽力訓練(一)
聽錄音內容兩遍,回答第 6 頁的 5 個問題。
第三步 答案核對
let students listen to the tape again and check the answers.
第四步 口語訓練(兩人一組)
practice part 2 on page 6.
1. let students read the questions and the expressions in this part.
2. let students make up a dialogue in pairs to discuss what scientific job they would like to choose in the future.
3. ask two or three pairs to present their dialogues.
第五步 listening task
1. ask students if they know some famous mathematicians.(學生可能回答出:華羅庚,陳景潤,蘇步青,高斯等等。)

tell students we'll learn another mathematician: leonhard euler.
ask students something about leonhard euler. (they have learned him in the reading task.)
2. 在聽之前,讓學生了解下列單詞的意思。
pure(純的), symbol(符號), ∏(pi)(圓周率), sin(正弦), cosin(余弦), topology(拓撲學)
3. let students listen to the tape twice and finish exercise 2 on page44.
4. 核對答案,引導學生進一步理解文章。

prepare writing on page 7.

第一步 引入話題
向學生展示一些杰出科學的圖片比如居里夫人等等來引出話題: “great scientists”
let students guess who they are. and then ask students to tell something about them.
第二步 小組活動(四人一組)
1. ask students to discuss the questions in warming up.
2. ask students to compare their answers.
3. ask students to discuss the two questions in pre–reading.
4. check the answers.
第三步 聽力訓練
利用 workbook 的 listening (p41) 進行聽力訓練。訓練之前,簡介有關 carl linnaeus 的情況。
carl linnaeus (1707–1778) lived and worked in sweden. he succeeded in classifying kinds of plants and animals. his classification has proved very successful and is still used today.
第四步 口語訓練
利用 talking (p41) 進行口語訓練。
第五步 作業布置
1. 預習本單元的單詞和詞組。
2. finish project. ( 四人一組,每個小組選定一名最喜愛的科學家,作一個相關匯報,主要項目是科學家的生平簡介,對科學的貢獻及成功之道等等。)
