it was more like a party than a meeting.
這哪像在開會，（亂哄哄地）分明像是在開派對。
短語拓展
（1）more than 多于（指數量），不僅僅
i have more than three books in my draw.
我抽屜里的書不止三本呢！
he is more than our teacher. he is our friend.
他不僅僅是我們的老師，還是我們的朋友。
（2）no more than 不多于，至多，相當于at most。
例如：
i have no more than 3 books.
我僅僅有三本。
（3）no+形容詞比較級（a）+ than +b   a與b一樣不……
此結構含感情色彩，可以理解為 “as + 形容詞的反義詞原級”。例如：
he is no richer( a man) than a beggar.
他的家產并不比乞丐多。
a whale is no more a fish than a horse is.
正如馬不是魚，鯨魚也不是魚。
（4）not more than 不多于，至多
此結構用來強調某一量不超過某一數目。
例如：
i have not more than 3 books.
不多于三本。（或許是一本，二本，也可能是三本，不確定。）
對比：
i have no more than 3 books.
我僅僅有三本。
