她給了我一塊漂亮的桌布。
clothes是指衣服，只有復數形式，因此不能與a或an連用，也不能用數詞 修飾。不能說a clothes，two clothes等，而只能說some clothes,these clothes。
clothing是集體名詞，服裝的總稱，沒有復數，不能說a clothing。
this piece of cloth is very beautiful.
這塊布料很漂亮。
she gave her a lot of old clothes.
她給了她好多舊衣服。
the little girl likes to wear new clothes.
這個小姑娘喜歡穿新衣服。
children's clothing here is more expensive than in beijing.

(8)work, job
work的意思是“工作，用功”，是不可數名詞；job表示“零工，具體的工作、職業”，是 可數名詞。
she has a lot of work to do on sundays.
每到周日她都有好多活要做。
he has no way to find a new job.
他沒有辦法去找到一份新的工作。
(9)country, nation, state
這三個詞都含有國家的意思，但各自強調的重點不一樣。
country 側重于表示國土、疆域或家園；
nation 側重于表示民族、國民或人民；
state 主要強調的是政權和國家機器。
china is a great country with 5,000 years civilization.
中國是一個具有五千年文明的偉大國家。
the whole country fell into joy and happiness.
全國都沉浸在歡樂之中。

(10)holiday,vocation
holiday 可用于表示各種假日，如公休日，各種節日的假日或寒暑假。通常用單數holiday表示短期的假期，如three days' holiday(三天的假期)，on holiday(在假日)等。
vocation 專用于英國學校的假期；而在美國所有比較長的時間的休假都用 vocation。
we all have two days' holiday every week.
我們現在每周休息二天。
