二. 重點(diǎn)、難點(diǎn)分析
1. may v. 可以
（1）may是情態(tài)動(dòng)詞，表示“可能”，也可以表示“允許”，后加動(dòng)詞原形，無(wú)人稱和數(shù)的變化。may表示可能，通常只用于肯定句或否定句中。如：
    ok. but i’m afraid i may be a little late.
    沒(méi)問(wèn)題。但恐怕我也許會(huì)遲到一會(huì)兒。
    he may not know. let’s ask the policeman.
    他可能不知道。讓我們問(wèn)一下那位警察。
（2）may表允許。如：
    you may go home now, robert.
    羅伯特，你現(xiàn)在可以回家了。
注意：may表示允許比較正式，口語(yǔ)中常用can代替。
（3）may i…?常用來(lái)向?qū)Ψ秸?qǐng)求許可，語(yǔ)氣委婉。如：
    may i go to bed now? 我現(xiàn)在可以去睡覺(jué)了嗎?
    may i...? 疑問(wèn)句的肯定回答為：yes, you may.
yes, please. /all right. /sure. /ok. 否定回答為：
no, you may not. /no, you mustn’t.
 
2. invite v. 邀請(qǐng)；招待
（1）invite sb. to+地名  邀請(qǐng)某人到某地
he invited me to his house.
（2）invite sb. to+名詞  邀請(qǐng)某人去……
invite sb. to a party
（3）invite sb. to do sth.  邀請(qǐng)某人做某事
    he often invites me to have supper.
（4）表示有禮貌的請(qǐng)求
    telephones are invited!

3. arrive到達(dá)
    arrive意為“到達(dá)，來(lái)”是不及物動(dòng)詞，若表示“到達(dá)某地方”時(shí)，須接介詞at或in，到達(dá)的地點(diǎn)是一個(gè)小地方，就用arrive at；表示到達(dá)的地點(diǎn)是一個(gè)大地方，就用arrive in。
