    （1）可與復數名詞及不可數名詞連用。
    （2）當做“某一”解釋時，也可與單數名詞連用。（-a certain）。如：
    you will be sorry for this some day. 總有一天，你會為這件事后悔的。
    a certain（some）person has seen you break the rule. 有人看到你違反規定了。
 
7. sea名詞，意為“海洋，大海，大湖，大浪”。如：
i like to see the sea. 我喜歡看大海。
the sea looks very beautiful. 大海看起來很漂亮。
由sea構成的短語  
（1）at sea表示在“茫茫大海上”，意指“離海岸很遠”。如：
    they had first met at sea. 他們在海上航行時首次見面。
    （2）all at sea引申為“茫然不知所措”之意。如：
    i’m all at sea. i can’t understand that problem. 我一片茫然，無法理解那個問題。
  （3）by sea經海路
  （4）by the sea在海邊

（1）大小，尺寸。如：

（2）尺碼，用來表示服裝。如：
    —what size shoes do you wear? 你穿多大號的鞋子?
    i take a size 38 shoe. 我穿38號鞋。
（3）短語：of a size大小相同。如：
    the two rooms are of a size. 兩個房間一樣大小。
 
10. keep意為“保持；保存；借”。如：
    the six students must keep their hands behind their backs.
    這6個學生必須把他們的手放在背后。

    certainly. you can keep them for two weeks. 當然可以，你可以借兩周。
  （1）keep＋n. pron. ＋adj. 意為使（讓）某人（物）保持某一狀態。如：
    he wanted to do something to keep himself busy.
    他想做點事情讓自己充實起來。
    the other students in the class keep their eyes closed.
    班里的其他同學把眼睛閉上。
  （2）keep＋n. pron. ＋doing sth. 意為“讓某人不停地干……”。如：
    i’m sorry to keep you waiting for a long time.
    對不起，讓你久等了。
