【語法】
1.hard-working 形容詞，勤勉的，努力工作的 hard work 辛苦的工作 work hard 努力工作
the hard-working boy always does hard work and works hard.

win此處用作不及物動詞，意為贏，獲勝，win還可用作及物動詞，意為在…中獲勝，其后的賓語為比賽的項(xiàng)目，獎品或戰(zhàn)爭。beat為打贏，戰(zhàn)勝，用于比賽時，其賓語為所戰(zhàn)勝的對手。
3. be good at=do well in
4. well, mary and her best friend are both tall.
both 代詞，意為兩者都。作主語時謂語動詞用復(fù)數(shù)，通常位于連系動詞，助動詞或青苔動詞之后，行為動詞之前。
both of + 人稱代詞的賓格或復(fù)數(shù)名詞（接復(fù)數(shù)名詞時of 通常省略）
both a and b a和b都。。。。

that’s why…..意為那就是。。。。的原因，why引導(dǎo)的句子作表語，是表語從句。

less用于形容詞或副詞之前，意為不如，不及，常見結(jié)構(gòu)為less +形容詞/副詞+than,相當(dāng)于not as/so….as…..此外，less 還是形容詞little的比較級，意為較少的，更少的。
