辨析 win, beat
win 一般指贏得比賽，獎品,獎金等。
beat 一般指贏了某人，某隊
we won the football macth . 我們贏了足球賽。
we beat them. 我們贏了他們。

辨析race, match, game, competition, contest
五者都有“比賽”之義，但適用的范圍有所不同。race通常指短跑比賽，如百米賽跑、接力賽等；match一般指代表隊之間的大型的公開比賽，尤指球類比賽；game通常指為了娛樂和鍛煉、根據某種規則以勝負為主的比賽，即可是體力的，亦可是腦力的;competition 指對力量、技術和能力的比賽，如：a beer drinking competition ；contest 與competition 用法非常接近，有時可互換，只是contest 是一種更正規的競賽，一般要有評委班子。并要評出幾等獎。

sport是名詞，指體育運動, 體育比賽do sport做運動
sports可以是名詞，指運動會，但也可以是形容詞，此時解釋為運動的，體育運動的，與體育有關的，比如體育新聞就是“sports news”，是指跟體育相關的新聞。
5.i want to be a famous athlete one day.
①want 1)want  v.，意思就是“想要、需要、要、想、希望”。
（ⅰ） want + n.
i want a hat dog, please. 我想要一個熱狗。
（ⅱ） want +to do
he wants to help you。他想幫助你。
 （ⅲ）want+ sb. + to do
she wants you to come in.她想讓你進來。
（ⅳ）sth . want（=need）+doing
my coat wants washing. 我的衣服需要洗了。
2)want   n.，意思是“缺乏、需要、愿望”。
the villages have a want of water. 這些村莊缺水。
learning english well is our want.學好英語是我們的愿望
3）want 用于成語：want for nothing 什么也不缺（be）wanting in 缺乏
（not）want for(不)缺乏want in （out）想進（出）去 in want 窮困，生活困難
【拓展】would like與want同意，但其語氣較want委婉一些。
②famous adj.著名的
1）be famous for =be known for  “以……出名或著稱”
france is famous for its wine .法國以其葡萄酒出名。
2）be famous as = be known as “作為……出名或著稱”
he is rather famous as a writer .他是著名作家。
3）famous是一個語氣很強的詞，通常指在很大范圍內為人所知，它一般不用于小有名氣的普通人或物，此時可用well-known。如：
he is a well-known businessman in our town.他是我們鎮一位有名的商人。（此句不宜用a famous businessman）
4)infamous的意思是“聲名狼藉的”“臭名昭彰的”等，不要認為它是famous的反義詞。
