1.alone作形容詞時用法歸納
(1)alone作形容詞時.意為“單獨的,獨自的”.一般只作表語,不作定語。
e.g.her parents were dead and she was alone.
她雙親死了,留下她獨自一人。
alone as he is。he doesn't feel lonely.
他雖然獨居,卻不感到孤寂。
(2)alone作定語,意為“只有”。通常用在名詞或代詞后面,可換用only。
e.g.the key alone will open the door.
只有這把鑰匙能開這個門。
he alone knows the secret.
只有他一人知道秘密。
mr.smith alone knows what happened.
只有史密斯先生知道發生了什么事。
he alone knows it.=he is the only person who knows it.
他是唯一知道此事的人。
2.impress用法歸納
(1)impress為及物動詞,意為“使……明白重要性,留下了深刻印象”。
e.g.the film impressed me deeply.
那部影片給我留下了深刻的印象。
his words impressed deeply on my memory.
他的話深深地印在我的記憶里。
what impressed me most was their brave spirit.
給我印象最深的是他們的無畏精神。
(2)其被動式be impressed很常用,后可接with/by。
e.g.1 was greatly impressed by/with the headmaster's speech.
我被校長的話深深感動了。
she was deeply impressed by/ with the scenery in guilin.
桂林的景色給她留下了深刻美好的印象。
(3)impress sth.on/upon one's mind意為“把……牢記在心”。
e.g.please impress what you see on your mind.
請把你見到的牢記在心上。
