teaching procedures:
step 1 revision
what kind of food do we eat?
• meat
• vegetable
• seafood
• fruit
• snacks(零食小吃)
• staple food (主食)
give the names of chinese fast food & western food to ss.
what substance do we get from each kind of food?
<sugar, protein, fat, fibre, vitamin, minerals, etc.>

discuss and finish the exercise: which food contains more…?

t : as we know, a healthy diet is very important to us. if we don’t have the right diet in our daily life, there will be something wrong with us sooner or later. now , let’s read a story related to the diet .

( collect some ideas from the class and put some of them on the bb)
1.reading strategies : read fast to prove your guess get the ss to read the whole story fast to prove whether their guesses are right.
then ask the following questions to finish the table :
qs : where are you invited to go ? whose restaurant ? what foods are offered there ? do these foods make a healthy diet ? why not ? what problems may these foods cause to customers ?
