(2) discover vt. 發現(發現世界上原本就存在的事物)
區別:invent vt. 發明 (發明世界上原本不存在的事物)
1) christopher columbus discovered america in 1492. 哥倫布于1492年發現了美洲大陸。
2) alexander invented the telephone. 亞歷山大發明了電話。
(3) discoverer n. [c.] 發現者
1) it was madame curie who/ that first discovered radium. 是居里夫人首先發現了鐳元素。
2) madame curie is well known as the discoverer of radium. 作為鐳元素的發現者而出名。
3. as well as
(1) as well as 同樣;也;以及(用于連接兩個并列的成分;相當于not only… but also 但as well as強調的是它前面的內容, 而not only… but also強調的是but also部分的內容。當as well as 用來連接兩個名詞作主語時,句中謂語動詞的形式必須與前一個名詞一致。)
