Module 10 Life history

意大利維洛那城的凱普萊特和蒙太古兩個家族有世仇，他們之間常常發生流血事件。一天，蒙太古的兒子羅密歐在化妝舞會上，與凱普萊特的女兒朱麗葉一見鐘情。直到天亮，倆人才依依惜別。第二天，羅密歐把二人的感情告訴了修道院的勞倫斯長老。長老表示支持，并暗中主持婚禮，希望借此結束兩家的宿怨。結婚的當天中午，羅密歐刺死了提伯爾特。這使兩家的仇恨更加激化，羅密歐也因此遭放逐。羅密歐走后不久，凱普萊特就逼迫朱麗葉與帕里斯伯爵結婚。朱麗葉焦急萬分，請求勞倫斯長老幫助。長老急中生智，一面讓朱麗葉在婚前的夜晚服下他的假死藥，一面派人送信給羅密歐，讓他適時趕來帶走朱麗葉。朱麗葉依計行事，可是送信的人卻沒有如期找到羅密歐。羅密歐得知朱麗葉死亡的消息連夜趕回，與先來憑吊朱麗葉的帕里斯發生誤會，刺死了帕里斯，然后自飲毒酒死在朱麗葉身旁。勞倫斯神甫遲到了，他看到帕里斯羅密歐已死，追悔莫及，這時朱麗葉醒來，看到這一情景，便抓起羅密歐身上的匕首，刺進了自己胸膛。
親王來到現場，弄清了真相，譴責了凱普萊特與蒙太古兩家，于是兩個仇家和解了。
