注：有些形容詞一般沒有比較等級。如： right, wrong, woolen等。
5、名詞所有格的用法
構成：
(1)一般在原有名詞詞尾加“’s”，如：
mary’s father 瑪麗的爸爸 jack’s family 杰克的家庭
(2)如果原有名詞是復數，詞尾帶有-s，則只加一個“’”，如：
teachers’ office 教師辦公室 workers’ home 工人之家
常考點：如果表示兩人共有的概念，則只在第二名詞詞尾加“’s”，如：lucy and lily’s room 表示露希和莉莉共有一個房間。
比較：these rooms are lucy’s and lily’s. 表示露希和莉莉各有一個房間。
(3)凡是不能加’s的名詞，都可以用of構成短語表示所有關系，如：
what’s the color of her hair?
她的頭發是什么顏色？
it is a picture of my family.
這是一張我的全家福。
注意：有些’s和of結構可以互換
china’s long history=the long history of china
the tree’s branches=the branches of the tree
使用范圍：
名詞所有格主要用于表示有生命的東西的名詞，但也可以用于以下名詞：
(1)表示 時間的名詞，如：
a day’s journey 一天的旅程 today’s newspaper 今天的報紙
(2)表示自然現象的名詞，如：
th e tree ’s branches 樹枝 the moon’s rays 月光
(3)表示國家、城市等的名詞，如：
china’s long history 中國悠久的歷史 the city’s parks 城市的公園
(4)表示人的群體的名詞，如：
the ship’s crew 船上 的工作人員 the company’s new factory 公司的新工廠
(5)表示度量衡及價值的名詞，如：
a mile’s distance 一英里的距離 twenty dollars’ value 20美元的價值
(6)表示機構的名詞，如：
the hotel’s entrance 旅館的入口 the school’s headmaster 學校的校長
6、雙重所有格
把of所有格和’s所有格結合在一起、表示所有關系的結構，就構成了名詞的雙重所有格。
(1)表示不特定的所有關系，如：
a friend of my father’s 我父 親的一個朋友
several cousins of mary’s 瑪麗的幾個表兄妹
(2)表示特殊情感，如：
that car of peter’s is very nice.
彼得的車確實很好。
look at the picture, the picture of a lovely baby’s.
看看那張畫，就是那張可愛寶寶的畫。
