7. along, across, through
along：表示“沿著……（街道、河流等，相當(dāng)于down）”。
across：表示“橫過、橫穿……”，（強(qiáng)調(diào)從某一平面過去，如河流、街道、廣場、橋梁等）。
through：表示穿過某一立體的空間或兩邊有建筑物的街道等。
例：(1) walk along (down ) the street till the end.
(2) i walked across the square to look for a taxi.
(3) it took us half a month to travel through the forest.
8. opposite
opposite：常用作介詞、副詞、形容詞，意思是“在……對面；在對面；對面的“等。
例：(1) the window is opposite the door.
(2) he stood opposite.
(3) it’s on the opposite side of the street.
 
（二）基數(shù)詞
we use cardinal numbers almost every day. we use them for lots of different things.
1. 基數(shù)詞的讀法：
（1）表示“幾十幾”的數(shù)，十位和個位之間用“—”連接。e.g.: 32 thirty-two
（2）101—999之間的數(shù)，百位和十位之間加“and”。e.g.: 928 nine hundred and twenty-eight
（3）1000以上的數(shù)，從后往前每三位一段，倒數(shù)第一段讀thousand，倒數(shù)第二段讀million，依次類推。e.g. 8,543,601 eight million, five hundred and forty-three thousand, six hundred and one
2. 基數(shù)詞的運用：
hundred, thousand, million, billion等一般用單數(shù)，但以下情況用復(fù)數(shù)：
（1）表示不定數(shù)目：e.g. hundreds of       millions of
（2）表示“幾十”的數(shù)詞，其復(fù)數(shù)形式可以表示年齡或年代。
e.g. in his twenties       in the thirties

（三）序數(shù)詞
we can use ordinal numbers to order things and events. we use them to talk about dates, floors, results, etc.
e.g. uncle jim will arrive on the seventh of june.
the restaurant is on the sixth floor.
millie came first in the english exam.
