2. ben: what date is it today, jim? 今天是幾號， 吉姆？
  jim: it’s the 16th of october. 10月16日。
1) what date is it today? 這句話用來詢問日期，同義句“what’s the date today?”答句用：it’s + the +序數詞 + of + 月份。
注意：what day is it today? 用來詢問星期幾，我們要注意它們之間的區別。
2）對于日期的表達，英美的表達方式是有差別的。英式英語一日為先，月份為后；美式英語則相反。例如：
XX年8月2日
英式英語寫法：the 2nd of august, 讀法：the second of august, two thousand and three
美式英語寫法：august 2, 讀法：august the second, two thousand and three
3. jim: when’s your birthday? 你什么時候生日？
ben: it’s on the 18th of october. 我的生日在10月18日。
用when來詢問別人的生日，答句用：it’s + on + the + 序數詞 + of + 月份，答句中的on 不能省略。例如：
— when’s children’s day?  — it’s on the first of june.
4. would you like to come to my birthday party? 你想要來參加我的生日聚會嗎？
1) would you like to do sth. 想要做某事，相當于 want to do sth.。例如：
i’d like to go with dad. 我想要和爸爸一起去。
2) would you like to…? 這個句型肯定回答一般為：sure. / yes, i’d like to. 不用yes, please. /no, thanks. 回答。例如：
— would you like to go shopping with me? 你想和我一起去購物嗎？
— yes, i’d like to. 是的，我愿意。
5. jim: would you like a vcd of japanese cartoons, too? 你也想要日本動畫片的vcd嗎？
  ben: yes, please. 是的。新課標第一網
would you like sth. ? 答句用yes, please. / no, thanks. 例如：
— would you like some bread? 你想要面包嗎？
— yes, please. 是的，謝謝。
6. aladdin is taking off his costume. 阿拉丁正在脫他的衣服。
take off 脫下，反義詞組是 put on
1) take off 后接具體的名詞時，名詞可以放在兩詞中間，也可以放在off后面。例如：
take off his costume = take his costume off
2) take off 后接代詞時，只能放在兩詞中間。例如：
your hat is not nice, you should take it off.
3) take off還可以表示飛機“起飛”。例如：
the plane to beijing takes off at 9 o’clock.  去北京的飛機9點鐘起飛。
7. it’s time for some cake. 到吃蛋糕的時間了。
it’s time for + 名詞， 意思是該到……的時間了，同義句型 it’s time to do sth.
it’s time for class. = it’s time to have a class. 到上課的時間了。
8. blow out 吹滅
jim is blowing out the candles. 吉姆正在吹滅蠟燭。
9. 介詞at, in和on表示時間時的用法。
1) at常用來表示在某點時間，即“在幾點幾分；在某一時刻”。例如：
she often gets up at 6:00 in the morning. 她通常早上六點鐘起床。
my little sister got a lot of presents at christmas.  我的小妹妹在圣誕節收到了很多禮物。
另外，at 還可以用在at night(在晚上), at last(最后), at the weekends(在周末), at noon(在中午)等固定短語中。
