    （6）表示某地人口有多少還可以表達為：the population of＋地點＋is＋數詞。如：
    the population of the world was about 6 billion in the year .
    在XX年世界人口大約是60億。
（7）表示某地人多或少時可以表達為：某地＋has＋a＋large/small＋population。如：
    china has a large population. 中國人口眾多。
  （8）問某地有多少人口時，還可以表達為：
    how large is/was＋the population＋of＋地名?如：
    how large is the population of china?中國有多少人口?
   詢問某地有多少人口，可以用how many people來替換。如：
    how many people are there in china?中國有多少人口?
 
9. land n. & v.
  （1）. 陸地；土地by land陸路on land在陸地上
  many farmers left the land for jobs in town. 許多農民離開土地去城里工作。
  （2）vi. 上岸；著陸；著地。
    they landed at london from the ship. 他們在倫敦離船上岸。
  （3）vt. 使著陸；使降落；使上岸。
    the pilot landed the plane safely。飛行員使飛機安全著陸。
 
10. be good for對于……有好處。如：
this is good for you. 這對你有好處。
be good at“在……方面擅長”，之后加名詞或者動名詞。如：
i’m good at english. 我英語學得好。
he is good at playing football. 他擅長踢足球。
be bad for“對……沒有好處”。如：
eating too much is bad for you. 吃得太多對你沒有好處。
be good for＋sb. /sth. ＋to＋動詞原形，“某人/某物干某事有好處”。如：
it’s good for animals to live in the forests. 動物住在森林里有好處。
 
11. be made up of表示“由……組成（構成）”，強調主語由兩部分或兩部分以上組成（構成）。如：
  the group is made up of ten students. 這個組由10名學生組成。
  be made of表示“由……制成”，仍能看出原材料的原樣。如：
  the chair is made of wood. 這把椅子是用木頭做成的。
  be made from表示“由……制成”，看不出原材料。如：
  paper is made from wood. 紙是由木頭制成的。
  be made by表示“某物由某人或某單位制造”，強調動作與執行者之間的關系。如：
  the kite was made by jim. 這風箏是吉姆做的。
  be made in表示“某物產于某地”，后接產地。如：
  this bike is made in jinan. 這輛自行車是濟南產的。
  be made into表示“做成某產品”。如：
  wood is made into paper. 木頭被制成紙。
 
12. square n.  正方形，方形物。如：
  the cookies are in the forms of squares. 那些甜餅是正方形的。
  廣場；街區。如：tian’an men square天安門廣場
  平方，如：the square of 5 is 25. 五的平方是二十五。
  adj. 正方形的；直角的。a square table方桌
