一、單元分析 (unit analysis)
(一) 單元地位 (unit position)
1. 本課在對人類至今為止太空探索領域取得的偉大創舉進行描述時，具體涉及到人類太空時代的開始，第一次載人的太空飛行，人類第一次登上月球和我國“神州五號”載人飛船的成功發射等這幾個里程碑式的創舉。教師可圍繞“人類和太空”這一主題，設計活動讓學生參與資料收集和口頭討論，加強對宇宙探索重要性的了解以及中國在探索宇宙方面對人類作出的貢獻。可以上升為一堂愛國主義的課程。
2. 圍繞本課主題“宇宙探索”，可以鼓勵學生分小組收集宇宙探索進程中令人刻骨銘心的悲壯場面和具有里程碑意義的事件，并讓學生考慮成為一名成功的宇航員所應具備的因素：身體素質、學術知識、精神毅力……
3. 本單元的語法復習是定語從句，教師有必要在課堂教學中在一定的句型操練的基礎上，著重指出幾個易錯易混淆的知識點，如：關系代詞that和which的區別；定語從句與同位語從句的區別等等。
4. 結合中國“神州七號”火箭成功發射和返回，實現中國人在宇宙的漫步，鼓勵學生根據有關資料在小組內談談自己的體會。

(二) 單元目標 (unit target)
1. 分清定語從句各個關系代詞和關系副詞的用法，熟練運動定語從句進行描述和會話。
2. 學會依照空間順序進行寫作，描述一個地方。
3. 能運用一些詞語和句型描繪航天知識和自己的感受。
