find之后常跟復合結構，這種現象可以歸納如下：
（1）find+賓語+名詞/代詞

他們發現湯姆是個好學生。
常用于這種結構的動詞還有：call,name,make,elect,think,consider,leave等。
（2）find+賓語+形容詞
i hope you’ll find the book interesting.
我希望你會發現這本書很有趣。
常用于這一結構的動詞有：make,set,get,keep,see,like,leave,dye,cut,paint,drive,beat,prove,wish等。
（3）find+賓語+現在分詞
we found a number of men already working.
我們發現很多人已經開始勞動了。
常用于這一結構的動詞有：see,watch,notice,observe,hear,listen to,look at,keep,have,feel等。
（4）find+賓語+過去分詞
he finds the door closed.
他發現門關了。
常用于這一結構的動詞還有：get,make,have,see,hear等。
另外，find+賓語+賓補結構，補語還可為副詞、介詞短語和帶不定式to be的復合結構。
