1. too many 太多，后面跟可數名詞的復數形式。
① there are too many people in the park on sundays.
星期天公園里人太多。
辨析：too much 與 much too
▲ too much 太多，后面跟不可數名詞
② watching tv too much is bad for your eyes.
看電視過多對你的眼睛有害。
③ i have too much homework to do.
我有很多作業要做。
▲ much too 很，非常，常用來修飾形容詞或副詞。
④ the coat is much too large for me.
這件大衣我穿著實在太大了。
 
2. i’d like to clone an animal that no longer lives in the world.
我想克隆一種世界上再也沒有的動物。   （l13）
would like 意為“想要”，其語氣比用like 婉轉些。用法如下：
①后面接名詞或代詞，表示具體“要”某樣東西。
would you like one of these mooncakes?
你想要一塊這樣的月餅嗎？
②后面接動詞不定式，表示“愿望，喜愛”，
用于有禮貌地提出邀請、請求或建議。
would you like to come? 你愿意來嗎？
③當主語是第一人稱時，would 可與should 換用，
它們都可以縮寫為’d , 并且like 也可換成love 。
i’m sure he would love to come. 我確信他愿意來。
④ “would like” 后面可以用動詞不定式作賓語補足語。
what would you like me to do? 你想要我做什么？
 
3. in my laboratory, i would make a new one!
在我的實驗室里，我要制造一個新的出來。 （l13）
one 代詞，指代前面出現的人或物中的一個，復數形式為ones。
① i haven’t a book, can you lend me one?
我沒有書，你能借給我一本嗎？
辨析：one, that與it
▲ one 表示泛指，指所提到的東西中的一個，不一定是原物。
② i can’t find my hat. i think i must buy a new one. （不確定）
我找不到我的帽子了。我想我該去買一頂新的。
▲ that表示特指, 與所指名詞為同類，但不是同一個。
③ the hat you bought is bigger than that i bought. （同類但不是同一個）
你買的那頂帽子比我買的大。
▲ it也表示特指，與所指名詞為同一個。
④ i can’t find my hat. i don’t know where i put it. （同一物）
我找不到我的帽子了。我不知道我把它放在哪兒了。
