where is ...? 是本單元講的重點句型。
這個句型是口語中最常用的句型之一。它可以用單數形式，也可以用復數形式。可以問人也可以問物。例如：
問物：單數形式：where is the pen? 那支鋼筆哪去了？
where is my bike? 我的自行車哪兒去了？
復數形式：where are the keys? 那些鑰匙哪去了？
where are those cars? 那些小汽車呢？
問人：單數形式：where is miss wu? 吳老師呢？
where is your mother? 你媽媽哪去了？
復數形式：where are the students of class one? 一班的學生哪去了？
where are they? 他們在哪兒？
在本課中, where is the …? 表示"某地方在哪兒？"
用來詢問地方，也可以使用"is there …?"詢問時可加"excuse me."以表示客氣，有禮貌。回答時可根據具體情況回答。例如：
"excuse me. where is the post office?" "請問，郵局在什么地方？"
"here is the station?" "車站在什么地方？"
"is there a fruit shop near here?" "附近有水果店嗎？"
指示方向的句型主要有以下幾種：
it’s on center street.
it’s across from the bank.
it’s next to the post office.
it’s between the restaurant and the supermarket.
it’s in front of the post office.
it’s behind the library.
注意：across表示的是從某物的一邊到另一邊;橫過across from 在…的對面;在…對過
in front of 在物體外面的前面
