activity 1: part a
in small groups, look at the comic strip below. it is the beginning of a story called mystery island. discuss what is happening in each picture.
activity 2: part b
the ss themselves write the words for the strip, using the numbers in the bubbles. write the text, speech bubbles, thought bubbles and sound effects. produce their own ending.
the ss can use the following words and expressions:
a small boat a round-the world trip a long journey
had lunch the weather forecast a storm/ typhoon is coming
life jacket a huge wave overturned crash!
in trouble let’s… thank goodness! i wonder if…
a few days later… look! there’s a / an roar!
