e.g.althoughhe is very old, he is quite strong.
他雖然老了，但是很強壯。
althoughit rained heavily, it was still hot.
雖然雨下得大，但是天還是很熱。
althoughi walked slowly, i got hot and sweaty.
雖然我走得慢，但是我還是熱出了一身汗。
　　although引導的狀語從句可以放在句首，也可以放在句尾，放在句首時要用逗號分開，如上面3個例句；放在句尾時，則不用逗號。
e.g.i often got illalthoughi ate healthy food every day.
雖然我每天都吃健康食品，但我還是經常生病。
i’m not good at englishalthoughyou teach it well.
雖然你英語教得很棒，但我還是學得不好。
　　although有一個同義詞though，though比although更通俗一些，它們用法基本相同。如：
thoughit was very late, he went on working.
=he went on workingthoughit was very late.
雖然很晚了，但是他還在繼續工作。
thoughhe is very poor, he is above telling a lie.
=he is above telling a liethoughhe is very poor.
雖然他很窮，但他不屑說謊話。
　　△注意although和though連接的句子無論是在句首還是在句尾，譯成中文時常常把他們譯在句首。切記不要既用although, though又用but。
（2）so…that…的意思是“如此地……以致于……”，它引導結果狀語從句。在口語中，so…that…的that常被省去。
e.g.she feltsosadthattears came to her eyes.
她非常悲傷，淚水盈眶。
john wassodrunk（that）he could not stand still.
約翰醉得站也站不住了。
he spokesorapidly（that）we could hardly follow him.
他說得很快，我們很難聽清楚他在說什么。
6.stay in touch! 保持聯系！
當人們不再像往常那樣能常見面時，往往會說stay/keep in touch表示“保持聯系”。
e.g.our neighbours are moving away, but i hope that we’ll stillkeep in touchwith each other.
我們的鄰居要搬走了，不過我希望我們仍然會保持聯系。
lose touch 表示“失去聯系”。
e.g.linda haslost touchwith most of her friends from primary school.
琳達與小學時的大部分朋友已經失去了聯系。
7.would life be as easy as when your parents arearound?
生活會像父母在家那樣愜意嗎？
around在本句中表示here, or near this place。
e.g.—is jackaround? 杰克在嗎？
—no, he has left. 不在。他已經走了。
when you need her, she’s neveraround(=here or somewhere near).
你需要她時，她總不在。
will you bearound(=here or somewhere near) next week?
下星期你在嗎？
8.i can fill an empty stomachwithtomato and egg soup, butthat’s all.
我可以用西紅柿雞蛋湯充饑，也就這些。
（1）fill…with表示“用……填/充(滿)，使……充滿……”。
e.g.pleasefillthis cupwithsome sugar.
請往這個杯子里加點糖。
fill with有“充滿……”之意，fill是不及物動詞。
e.g.my heartfills withjoy. 我的心充滿歡樂。
the sailsfilled withwind. 帆被風張滿。
（2）that’s all. 表示“完了，就這些”。
e.g.that’s allfor today. goodbye, everyone.
