i have two books，one in chinese and the other in english.

(3)another亦表示“另一個”的意思，但它指同類人或事物不定數目中的“另一個”。another前面不能用定冠詞the，它作為定語通常與單數名詞連用，它后面也可以跟few或基數詞的復數名詞。
如：
i don’t like this.show me another，please.我不喜歡這個。請再拿另一個來給我看看。
this glass is broken，get me another please.這只玻璃杯壞了，請給我再拿一個。
i'll stay here in another few days. 我要在這兒再呆幾天。
注意：
other和another都可以用來修飾數詞，表示“另外的；附加的”，但是結構不同。other的位置是“數詞+other+復數名詞”，相當于more的用法；而another則是“another+數詞+復數名詞”。
例如：
今天下午我又寫了兩封信。
i wrote another two letters this afternoon.
=i wrote two other letters this afternoon.
=i wrote two more letters this afternoon.
4. anyone和any one
anyone 僅指人，any one 既可指人，也可指物。
例如：
anyone would know that. 人人都知道那一點�！�
did any one see the accident? 有誰目睹這次事故了嗎？
any one 和 anyone 可以互用
5. how many，how much，how long，how often，how far，how soon
how many 多少，后面總是跟一個可數名詞的復數：how many books do you have?
how much 多少，也可以問價格，價錢，后面總是跟不可數名詞: how much meat do you want?
how long 多長時間：how long have you been to china?
how often 表示多經常，問的是頻率：how often do you come here to study english?
how far 表示問距離多遠: how far is it from here to the post office?
how soon 問多久，用于將來時：how soon will you come back?
6. “穿”的幾種表達
wear 是“穿著”，“戴著”，強調狀態，用一般現在時表示經常狀態，用現在進行時表示暫時狀態。
例如：
we wear our rain boots on a rainy day. 我們在下雨天穿雨鞋。
does she wear glasses? 她戴眼鏡嗎？
is she wearing the same clothes? 她穿著同樣的衣服嗎？
put on 是“穿上”，“戴上”的意思，強調動作。
例如：
she put on a red coat and went out. 她穿上紅色大衣出去了。
注意：
put on是一時的動作，不能跟表示一段時間的狀語連用。
試譯：他整天戴著草帽。
誤：he put on a straw hat all day.
正：he wears a straw hat all day.
dress 可指穿衣服的動作，用作不及物動詞時，表“穿好衣服”，用作及物動詞時，后面要接“人”，不接“衣服’”，表示“給某人穿衣服”。
