(3) why they left in such a hurry was not clear.
(4) where he has been is still a puzzle.
suggested answers:

2. help ss draw a conclusion when to use it as a formal subject.
(1) it + be +形容詞+ that-從句
it is necessary that … 有必要……
it is important that … 重要的是……
it is desirable/ suggested/ advisable that …+ ( should ) do
eg it is important that we (should) study hard.
it is suggested that we (should) finish it this afternoon.
(2) it + be + v-ed + that-clause
it is believed that … 人們相信……
it is known to all that … 從所周知……
it has been decided that … 已決定……
(3) it + be + noun + that-clause
it is common knowledge that… ……是常識

it is a fact that… 事實是……
(4) it + vi + that-clause
