例如：many workers were buried underground when there was an accident at the mine.礦上發(fā)生意外事故時，許多礦工都被埋在了地下。

1.boxing n. 拳擊

辨析except，besides
except作“除……外”講時，表示不包括在內(nèi)
besides作“除……以外”講時，表示“除了……，還包括……”
例如：we all went to see a film last night except/but tom. 昨天晚上除了湯姆外，我們都去看電影了。(湯姆沒去看)
例如：we all went to see a film last night besides tom. 昨天晚上除了湯姆去看電影外，我們也都去了。(湯姆去看了)
2. birthplace 出生地，故鄉(xiāng)
例如：after twenty years, he returned to his birthplace. 二十年后他回到了故鄉(xiāng)。
birthplace是個復(fù)合詞，birth(出生)+place(地方)，就是“出生地”。
