一. 單元分析（unit analysis）
（一）單元地位（unit position）
1.本課講述了michelangelo 和franz schubert 的成功故事，談及了成功所需的個人素質(zhì)和必要條件。教師可圍繞“成功人士”這一主題，設(shè)計活動讓學(xué)生參與討論，通過了解他人的成功經(jīng)歷，從中獲取經(jīng)驗。
2.本單元末，利用本課“成功人士”這一主題，學(xué)生探討他們所認為的成功的定義，怎樣的人算成功人士，取得成功的必要因素是哪些。
3.本課繼續(xù)討論定語從句，主要學(xué)習(xí)介詞加關(guān)系代詞。對于這一語法現(xiàn)象，教師有必要在課堂教學(xué)中加以一定的句型操練。
4.針對本課的“定語從句”現(xiàn)象，設(shè)計游戲，讓學(xué)生在模擬情境中運用該語法現(xiàn)象。

1. 進一步學(xué)習(xí)定語從句。
2. 能對名人的成功進行簡單描述。（名字，國籍，職業(yè)，杰出貢獻…）
3. 能談?wù)搨�人成功所需的必要素質(zhì)。

1 reading 作為“成功故事”這一主題的引入，教師可讓學(xué)生先將教材第20頁上的人物圖片和圖下所列的名字連接起來。描述他們的國籍，職業(yè)，有什么成就。
以小組活動的形式討論并填寫教材第21頁a2的表格，分別寫出michelangelo, beethoven, mandela, zhang haidi, hellen keller這幾位名人的性別，職業(yè)，國籍以及杰出之處。
