424. wipe out
[1]擦去，除去；
out 表示空間“由里向外”，因而與表示
“clean”的動詞連用，表示清除物體內部；而off 可表示“離開”平面，因而與表示“clean”的動詞連用，表示清除物體表面（the surface of ）。如：
did you sweep out the closet last night?
昨晚你把壁櫥（里面）打掃干凈了嗎？
i cleaned out the desk and dusted it off.
我把課桌里面擦干凈，并拭去桌面上的灰塵。

eg: the whole enemy was wiped out.敵人全軍覆沒。
the earthquake wiped out the town. 地震毀滅了那座城市。
425. work out
[1]算出；
eg: the weekly rate is worked out by dividing by 52. 除以52就算出來每周費用了。
[2]想出，設計出，制定出；
[3]解決。
eg: economists have tried to work out an alternative economic system. 經濟學家試圖找到一種可供選擇的經濟體系。
426. work up
[1]引起，激起；
[2]逐漸上升，向上爬。
427. write off 取消，注銷，勾銷
eg: the new equipment was written off in three years.新設備三年就報廢了
