二、頻度副詞的位置

1. 在be動詞之后。如：

she is sometimes very busy. 她有時很忙。

2. 在第一個動詞或情態動詞之后。如：

i will never forget the first time i met you.我將永遠忘不了和你的第一次見面。

3. 在實義動詞之前。如：

we often go there. 我們常去那兒。

4. sometimes也可放在句首、句中或句末，often也可放在句末。如：

sometimes she writes to me. 她有時候給我寫信。

she writes to me often. 她經常給我寫信。

三、用法

1. often, always,usually等通常和一般現在時連用，表示現在經常或反復發生的動作。如：

it often rains here in april. 這兒四月份常下雨。

2.always與進行時連用時，并不強調動作正在進行，而是表示贊嘆、厭煩等情緒。如：

he is always thinking of others. 他總是想著別人。（贊嘆）

she is always asking silly questions.她老是問些愚蠢的問題。（厭煩）

3. 對這些頻度副詞提問時，用how often。如：

i write to my brother sometimes.

how often do you write to your brother?

1.tom usually does his lessons after supper.湯姆通常在晚飯后做功課。

  how oftendoes tom do his lessons after supper？

2.kate sometimes plays games with her elder sister.凱特有時和她的姐姐做游戲。

how oftendoes kate play games with her elder sister？

四、時態：頻度副詞常與一般時態連用，如果帶某種情感時則與進行時態連用。如：

    1.myfather usually tells me a story on sundayevenings.我爸爸通常在星期天晚上給我講一個故事。

    2.whenhe was a child， he was always asking questions and trying out newideas. 他小的時候，總是問一些問題，并試驗一些新的觀點。

pretty和 beautiful

漂亮的, 可愛的, 優美的, 機靈的, 恰當的

ps.pretty可以修飾形容詞pretty young是相當年輕的意思.

she is pretty. 她好漂亮.pretty 當作漂亮解時, 和beautiful 程度上差不多, 但如果真的要比的話, beautiful 還是比 pretty要 beautiful 一點. 另外還有一種用法就是當球賽有精采的表現時,你就可以說, oh! that’s pretty. 但是不能說, that’s beautiful,跟中文是不是有點類似呢?

pretty和beautiful在漢語的意思上沒有太大的分別。但是在英語里有不同。后者的程度比較深。人家外國人見了人會夸pretty，但是很少用beautiful。除非是那種巨美的。

pretty在某種程度上來說，沒有beatuiful好看，一般外國人不太用beautiful來形容人的，一般只會說pretty girl。

另外的一個區別是beautiful只能做形容詞，修飾名詞，做定語。而pretty除此種用法外，還能做副詞= very， eg：that’s a pretty good idea。

總的來說pretty單指長得美

beautiful包括心靈美

所以稱贊人還是beautiful好
