3）表示“代替”時instead和 instead of,in place of的區別:
instead是副詞,單獨用于句首或句尾。
instead of相當于介詞,用在名詞、代詞或介詞短語前。
in place of相當于in stead of,是書面語。“代替某人”還可說 in sb.’s place。

【拓展】1)動詞不定式作目的狀語時,可以位于句末,也可以位于句首。
2)prevent sb./sth.from doing sth.表示“制止（防止）某人（或某物）做某事”,在現代英語中from常常可以省略,但在被動句中,from不能省略。與prevent sb./sth.from doing sth.結構相似的有stop sb./sth.from doing sth.（其中的from 在主動句中可以省略）;keep sb./sth.from doing sth.（其中的from不可省略）。
3)between常指“在（時間、距離、重量、情感、味道等）（兩者）之間”,指“三者或三者以上之間”多用among。
