1.besides,except,except for 和except that
besides意為“除……之外，尚有……或外加……”。
except將一個(gè)或幾個(gè)人或物從同一類或普通的種類中除外，意為“除……之外”，指“不包括……”。其后可接名詞、代詞、副詞、介詞短語、動(dòng)詞不定式或wh-從句。
except for說明整個(gè)基本情況后，對(duì)細(xì)節(jié)加以糾正，后接名詞。

the number of 的意思是“……的數(shù)量；號(hào)碼”。當(dāng)它與后面的名詞連用時(shí)，中心詞是the number。如果用作主語，即使后面的名詞是復(fù)數(shù)，謂語也要用單數(shù)。
