[點撥]make sense of sth 弄懂……意思：eg: can you make sense of this poem?            你懂得這首詩的含義嗎？make sense 有意義       eg: what you say doesn’t make sense /make no sense.                    你的話毫無意義。some believe that we are equipped with a special ability to learn language and our brain adjust itself to the language of the culture we are born in.有人認為我們具備特殊的學語言能力，而且我們的大腦能夠自我協調以適應我們本族文化的語言。[點撥]equip a with b  用b裝備a    eg: the pla men are equipped with modern weapons.        解放軍戰士是用現代化武器裝備起來的。[注意]equip 是指“加設備（或裝置）于……”，它的賓語不能是指被設備或被裝置的東西的詞。    eg: 可以說they equipped the army with modern weapons.        但不可以說：they equipped modern weapons with the army.[點撥]adjust oneself/s.th. to    eg.1. the body adjusts itself to changes in temperature.         身體能自行調節以適應氣溫變化。    eg.2. you can’t see well through a telescope unless it is adjusted correctly to your sight.除非你把望遠鏡準確的調節到適合你的視力，否則就看不清楚。    well-adjusted與他人關系和諧的，善于順應的others think that we learn language in the same way…and that what we are born with is a… .另一些人認為和學習其他事物一樣，比如走路，解決問題等，我們用同樣的方式學習語言，我們與生俱來的是一種學和用的綜合能力，而不是專門的語言學習能力。[點撥]上一句的some ，與這一句的others構成固定的句型搭配some…others/other+ n(pl)…意為“一些……另一些……”。[點撥]that we learn language…與that what we are born with…為謂語動詞think 的并列賓語從句，第一個引導詞that可以省略，但第二個引導詞that不可省略。[點撥]in the same way 之后省略的關系代詞that或in which與we learn other things一起構成way的定語從句。regardless of their theories, these language experts do agree that…盡管眾說紛紜，這些語言專家都承認生活是一所成功的語言學校。 [點撥] regardless of 意為 ：不顧，不注意，     eg.1. regardless of the consequences 不顧后果     eg.2. regardless of expense 不考慮費用        其反義為regardful of 注意關心     eg: be more regardful of your own interests.
