2. 一般過去時和過去進行時
1）一般過去時側重于說明發生某動作的事實。
it rained heavily last night.昨晚雨下得很大。(強調下雨，并不強調持續時間)
2）過去進行時側重于強調某動作的持續過程或表示動作在進行。
it was raining cats and dogs last night昨晚整整一夜都在下傾盆大雨。(強調沒停，一直持續)
3. 現在完成時和現在完成進行時
1) 現在完成時在含義上著重表示動作的結果。
i have read that book. (已讀完)
2）現在完成進行時著重表示動作一直在進行，即動作的延續性。
i have been reading that book all the morning.( 還沒讀完)
