select a group leader.  the leader must do many things.  the main things are to listen and encourage others to speak.  leaders should not talk too much themselves.
at the start
        choose a secretary to take notes.
        make sure everyone understands the topic.

during the discussion
        make sure everyone speaks.
        get people to give examples and explanations.
        stop noisy people from talking too much.
        give your own views after others.
        tell people when to move to a new point.
at the end
        make sure you have reached a clear decision.
        ask the secretary to sum up the main points.
        the secretary or the leader can report to the whole class.

1. which plot of the text impresses you most?  why?
2.  if you were raoul, would you save christine?  since you were not able to beat the phantom, what would you do?
3.  in your point of view, what may happen after several years?
4.  activity: ask students to tell the ending of the story.  the first student should say, “thirty years later…” the next student should go on telling the story in one or two sentences.  the last student should tell the ending.
5. if you were the phantom’s mother, what would you do?
6. some poor parents will abandon their sick child.  what do you think of this fact?  if they keep their child, how can they take care of him or her?
