unit 1 what did zhan tianyou do?一 teaching aims:1.to understand the dialogue about zhan tianyou. 2.past simple wh- questions. 3. to get some information from the listening passage, 二 teaching important point:to understand the dialogue well. 三teaching difficult point:to talk about heroes, using the past simple tense.   四teaching methods:bottom-up, task-based, work in pairs,etc. 五 teaching aids:pictures, tape recorder, projector 六teaching procedures:step 1  warming-up go over the contents in module10 by asking the ss some questions about shakespear’s life .  step 2.  lead-in  ask the ss: do you know zheng chenggong? (yes ,a famous general .he’s a national heroe. he defeated the enemy and made Chinese Taiwan return to mainland.) do you know zhan tianyou?  is zhan tianyou a famous writer ?what did he do? ( ss answer: no, he isn’t, he is an engineer. he built the first china’s railroad )today let’s learn module11,unit1,what did zhan tianyou do?) step 3 presentation  (activity 1)   first, present the new words in the box by talking about zhan tianyou, after teaching the new words, let the ss do part1: complete the passage with these words in the box.. second, books closed. ask the ss to listen to dialogue and find out the answers to these questions: who was zhan tianyou? say something about zhan tianyou according to the dialogue? step 4  drill l ask the ss to read after the tape and answer the questions on page 69, part 4.  first ss may ask and answer in pairs, and then check the answers ,at last ss write down their answers. 2. explain some language points: (1).think of 覺得 eg: what do you think of china? (2) what did he do?(means “what was his job?) (對比)what does he do? (means “what is his job?) (3) why didn’t…?為什么不。。。? eg: why didn’t you clean your room?   step 5 practice reading let the ss practice reading: first read the dialogue together, then read the dialogue in groups . step 6 consolidation ask the ss to talk about zhan tianyou according the questions in part4 on page 69. step 7 summary to summarize the new words, phrases and the past simple tense, go over them with the whole class. step 8 homework: read the dialogue and talk about your hero.
