1）to cause or allow to be seen; display. 露出，顯示: 導致或允許被看見；展示
“show me your passport, please,” said the customs officer.

（三）重點解析
1. liu chang and li jun are talking on the telephone. 劉暢和李君正在打電話。
2. “ the english club is having a speech contest,” liu chang says.

3. say, speak, talk, tell的用法區別
四個動詞都有“說”，“講”的意思，但用法和含義不盡相同。
1. talk是不及物動詞，一般指隨便漫談。表示“同某人交談”，要用talk to sb.或 talk with sb. 表示“談論某事”，要用talk about sth.
e.g.: we talked about music all night.
look! they are talking happily.
2. tell 是及物動詞，意思是“告訴，講述”。表示“告訴某人某事”，要用 tell sb. sth.; 表示“告訴某人做某事”，要用 tell sb. to do sth. 表示“告訴某人不要做某事”，要用tell sb. not to do sth.
