step1: pre-task preparation:

  2. 背誦、表演a部分對話。

本部分為一段有關helen在筆友俱樂部征集筆友的對話，要求學生通過聽錄音完成填表練習。1） 在學生聽錄音前，教師可先引導他們看練習的引言部分，讓他們了解對話主題，預測可能聽到的內容，做好心理準備。
   2） 教師播放全文錄音，鼓勵學生逐步養成整體接受語言材料的習慣；再指導學生在聽的過程中完成填表練習。
3） 教師與學生共同討論練習答案，并分析錯誤原因，找到解決方法。
2. read , think and write
本部分展示了liu tao 寫給peter的信，要求學生在閱讀來信的基礎上幫助peter給liu tao回信，重點訓練學生的閱讀理解能力和寫作能力。
   1） 教師先引導學生自己閱讀本課的語言材料，理解句子含義。讀本部分出現的生詞，教師可采取不同的處理方法：可在閱讀前講解，也可啟發學生通過上下文猜測。
   2） 引導學生分組討論liu tao的來信和peter的回信，通過問答，如詢問“how old is liu tao? where does he live? does he have any brothers or sisters?”等深入淺出的問題讓學生理解信中的內容。
   3） 讓學生觀察并自己總結信件的格式，寫法，包括地址、日期、起首語、結尾問候語的處理方法。

本部分是peter給liu tao的回信，介紹了除書信以外的另一種通訊方法e-mail，或稱電子郵件。 1） 通過問答如who's peter? where does he live? 等，讓學生記起a部分關于的一些資料。
     2） 讓學生仔細閱讀f部分有關的資料，讓學生加深對peter的了解。
     3） 讓學生觀察書中e-mail的格式，鼓勵他們說出與書信的不同之處。
     4） 鼓勵學生完成練習，或請學生2人一組完成填空練習。
