step ii speaking
get the students to talk about questions in think about it, and help them to understand the text better.
t: now let’s come to think about it. look at the questions and have a discussion in pairs.
give the students enough time to discuss in pairs and then ask some of them to give their opinions.
t: the first question, volunteers?
s: i can see english words on the advertisement boards and some product introductions. i often go to english corner in my city to practice my english.
t: well done! what jobs need english?
s: computer programmer, hotel waiter / waitress, scientist, and journalist.
s: translator, diplomat and businessperson.
t: wonderful! there are so many jobs that need english. so, you see, learning english is very important. good english can help us own a good future.

get the students to listen to the text and answer some questions.
t: listen to the tape and answer the questions shown. while listening, you should pay more attention to the information about these questions.
