☆本句包含三個從句：we can learn from chuck為定語從句,修飾the lesson,關系代詞that或which在從句中做賓語,可以省略。who have unusual friends為定語從句,修飾all the others,關系代詞做主語不可省略。that friends are teachers,此為that引導的表語從句,其構成和大家比較熟悉的賓語從句基本相似
☆learn one's lesson(from)意為“(從……)得到教訓”。
we learned his lesson that we wouldn't drive too fast.
我們吸取他的教訓不能開車太快。
☆表達此意時，我們還可以說：teach sb. a lesson給某人一個教訓
the accident taught him a lesson.那次事故給了他一個教訓。
14. friendship helps us understand who we are, why we need each other and what we can do for each other. （友誼使我們明白我們是怎樣的人，為什么我們需要對方，我們彼此能為對方做點什么。）
★此句中understand后面接了三個并列的賓語從句，分別由what, why, what引導�！�
15. my friend is honest. he never tells lies.
★tell lies 撒謊,為固定搭配，tell/say/speak/talk,其用法各有側重,也有各自的一些搭配,學習重要注意區分和積累。

suggested answers to the questions：
①he has to learn how to collect water, hunt for food, and make fire. more importantly, he has to learn to live without friends.

(the students may also use present tense, e.g. he learns a lot about himself. he realizes that?)
