★ thought是指明顯的智力活動,特別是經過思考和推理后得出的結論,與單純的觀察、感覺或愿望不同。它表示經過沉思、推理而在頭腦中形成的意念或思想,這種“思想”可能已經表達出來，也可能未被表達出來。
he's trying to collect his thoughts.他正在努力集中自己的思想。
★ idea和thought的比較：idea的使用范圍大,可以表示“念頭”、“想法”、“主意”等
she'll have her own ideas about that.  對那件事她會有自己的想法。
 2. fold vt. 折疊；對折,其反義詞是unfold
      he folded his clothes neatly. 他把衣服疊整齊。
★拓展：fold one's arms 雙臂在胸前合抱    fold one's hands 十指交叉合掌
      the bird folded its wings.  鳥兒收起了翅膀。 
      she folded her baby in her arms. 她把嬰兒抱在懷里。
      the boy folded a book up in paper. 這個男孩用紙把書包起來。
 3. just like spoken language, body language varies from culture to culture.
    身勢語就像口語一樣,因文化的差異而有所不同。
★ spoken language “口語”, 其中 spoken是過去分詞作定語, 又如：
     spoken english 口頭英語     spoken command 口頭命令
    反義詞是written “書面的”。如：written english書面英語
★ vary vt. & vi. 變化，改變
her mood varies from day to day. 她的心情天天在變化.
a good driver varies the speed of his car according to the condition of roads.
     優秀的司機會依照路況變換車子的速度。
★ from culture to culture相當于from one culture to another，from …to …“從……到……”常跟一個相同的單數名詞,且名詞前不用冠詞。類似的表達還有：  
from generation to generation 一代代    from head to foot 從頭到腳
from door to door 挨家挨戶           from shop to shop 從一個商店到另一個商店
from side to side  從一邊到一邊
the custom has been handed down from generation to generation. 這種習慣代代相傳。
he begged from door to door. 他挨家挨戶乞討。
body language varies from country to country.  各個國家的肢體語言各不相同。
the weather varies from very cold to quite mild.天氣變化從很冷變得相當溫和。
i want to know about this thing from beginning to end.我想從頭至尾了解這件事。
they have always lived from hand to mouth.他們一直過著勉強糊口的日子。
