11. and if we are feeling down or lonely, there is nothing better than to see the smiling face of a good friend. 如果我們感到沮喪或孤獨,沒有什能比看到好朋友的笑臉更好的了。
★1）down adj.氣餒的,沮喪的； 虛弱的  如：
      i felt down about her leaving.我對她的離開感到悶悶不樂。
      he was very down when he told us that.他告訴我們這事時,心情很沮喪。
     he looks down. i think he must be tired. 他顯得很虛弱,我想他準是太勞累了。
     he is down in spirits。他意志消沉。
   he was down after losing his seat in the election. 他在選舉中失去席位后變得很消沉。
   we will not let you down.我們不會讓你失望。
2） there is nothing better than to do sth.沒有比做某事再好的了/沒有什么能強過……
  there is nothing better than to have a hot bath after a whole day's work.
    沒有什么比工作一天后洗個熱水澡更好的了。   
  there is nothing better than to help yourself to a cold drink in hot summer.
    沒有什么比在炎熱的夏天喝杯冷飲更好的了。
12. mind v. 介意、反對、當心
★ mind doing 介意做某事    mind + 從句 介意….
don't mind his opening the door. 他開門你別介意.
would you mind filling out the form? 請填一下這張表好嗎?
would you mind my smoking here? 我在這兒抽煙你不反對吧?
do you mind if i take this away? 我把這個拿走你不反對吧?
i don't mind who he is. 不管他是誰我都不在乎。
★拓展：在回答 would you mind... 問句時,如果表示不介意時，常說： oh, no, please/certainly not/ of course not 或 not at all. 如果表示反對時，習慣上說i'm sorry, but i do.或 yes, i do mind.
