本單元是在學習和掌握句型look at…和it is …and…的基礎上圍繞課題in the circus開展活動和練習,將話題和功能緊密結合。
本課通過look and say引入話題,學習新的語言。通過控制性練習,為學生提供練習活動;通過游戲活動,為學生提供在真實語言。通過控制性練習,為學生提供練習活動;通過游戲活動,為學生提供在真實語言環境中運用語言的機會。各步驟環環緊扣,在語言功能和交際功能之間建立一種聯系,使學生的學習循序漸進,逐步提高。
在本單元的教學中,老師很注重利用信息共享的交流活動。例如教案中的詞匯擴展,就是學生與學生之間,教師與學生之間的信息共享活動。改變了過去“教”與“學”被動機械的方式。學生主動積極地參與學習過程,而教師的主要任務是創造條件鼓勵學生參與活動。
