3. sing the song
play the tape and sing the song with the ss.

1. present the words and the tense.
stop the ss singing and ask:
t: what are you doing?
s1: i’m singing. ( with the help)
s2: i’m singing.
t: ( to all the ss)what are you doing?
ss: we’re singing. ( with help)
write the sentences ‘what are you doing? i’m/ we’re singing.’on the blackboard and have the ss repeat.
2. show a picture that one student is standing .then ask:
t: who’s he?
ss: he’s ...
t: hi,, what are you doing?
s: i’m standing.
present the sentence on the bb and have the ss repeat.
3. learn the words sit and sitting.
show a picture that a girl is sitting .then ask:
t: who’s she?
s: she’s ...
t: hello, ...what are you doing?
s: i’m sitting.
t: what is she doing?
ss: she is sitting.
present the sentences on the blackboard and teach. pay attention to the spelling of the word sitting and the pronunciation of ‘ing’.
4. present the words walk and walking.
show a picture that some ss are walking to teach the sentence patterns and the words:
-what are they doing ?
-they are walking.
5. show a picture that a boy is running to present:
t: what is he doing? is he sitting?
ss: no, he isn’t. he is running.
6. show a picture that a girl is jumping and present the words jump and jumping.
-what is she doing?
-she is jumping.
7. say a rhyme.(say and do it together)

standing, standing, i’m standing.

walking, walking, he’s walking.

8. t: we do so many sports. so i’m very tired. i want to go to bed. do you want to go to bed? look, the boy is tired, too. what is the boy doing? (show picture that a little boy is sleeping)
ss: he is sleeping. teach the words sleep and sleeping.
9. ply the tape and organize the ss to listen and repeat.
3. post-task activities
1. guessing game.
magic eyes. show the parts of the pictures and get the ss to guess what he/she/is doing?/what they are doing? the ss should answer with :he/she is ...they are ...the one who is right i’ll give him or her a present.
