goal:let students know some places of interest;give the students an opportunity
to try to describe different places and reason for going there.learn about
knowledge of some famous places.
language skills:listening,speaking,reading and writing.

process:1)the teacher let the students say out some famous places they know .
2)then the teacher ask the following questions;
(1)   what other famous cities do you know?
(2)   do you like traveling?
(3)   where have you been?
(4)   what is is famous for?
3)the teacher shows the students some pictures of famous places and ask
 them to guess the names of the places and tell where they are.
4)by doing the above now the teacher say:
would you like to go there and visit it?
imagine you are offered a free ticket that lets you travel around
  the world and make five steps along the way.
which five cities will you decide to visit? why?
  draw your flight line on the map and mark the cities you want to visit.
5)show the map of the world to the students.ask the students to mark five
 cities they want to visit on the map.

more and more people like going on a trip to a faraway destination with the development of society. but before we start, we should know more about the destination we have chosen. this unit is arranged about the central topic—destinations. in warming up, teacher will ask students to talk about the routes and more places in the world, improving the students’ geography know ledge. in studying the reading material “destinations”,the students will know more sights in the world and other things with the help of the teacher. by studying this unit, students will also know that finding out more about the destination is not only a good way to save money and avoid problems, it can also be a lot of fun. as to grammar—non-finite verbs, a number of exercises are arranged. after doing them, students will master some knowledge of the infinitive, the v.-ing and the past participle, and know how to use them.
