4) survive的用法回顧
(1) vi. 活下來(沒死掉) 如: ① of those wounded in the battle, only three survived. 戰(zhàn)斗中受傷的人中只有3個(gè)活下來。② some animals can survive in the desert on very little water. 有些動(dòng)物靠很少的水就能在沙漠上存活下來。
(2) vt. (經(jīng)過……)活下來，幸存 ① did anyone survive the earthquake? 有人在地震中活下來了嗎? ② few birds managed to survive the winter last year. 去年冬天幾乎沒有鳥兒幸存下來。
(3) vt. 比……活得長 ① the man survived his sister by three years. 那個(gè)人比他姐姐多活了3年。② he is survived by his wife and two sons. 他死了，他的妻子和兩個(gè)兒子還活著。
5)that long中的that相當(dāng)于so，但語氣比so強(qiáng)，譯為“那么，如此”。如：① he was that weak he could hardly stand. 他那么虛弱，幾乎站不住。② i like him but not that much. 我喜歡他但并不那么喜歡。
【鏈接】this也有類似用法，譯為“這么，這樣”。如: ① the table is about this big. 桌子大約這么大。② we have walked this far without stopping. 我們一直不停地走了這么遠(yuǎn)。

go by 此處表示“(時(shí)間)過去”，相當(dāng)于pass。如: ① time went by slowly. 時(shí)間慢慢地消逝。② many years have gone by since we first met. 我們初次見面迄今已有好多年了。
【拓展】 go by也可表示“從旁邊經(jīng)過”“(時(shí)機(jī)等)輕易放過” “依照，遵循” “憑……判斷”。如: ① the parade went by us. 游行隊(duì)伍從我們旁邊走過。② don't let this opportunity go by. 不要放過這一機(jī)會(huì)。③ you should go by the rules. 你應(yīng)該照章辦事。④ to go by appearance, i would say an is well. 從表面看，我覺得一切都很好。

1) go well意為“進(jìn)展順利”，go是不及物動(dòng)詞，需用副詞修飾。如: ① the meeting went badly. 會(huì)議進(jìn)展情況很糟糕。② for the first winter things went smoothly enough. 第一個(gè)冬天，情況還算順利。③ -- how is everything going? -- very well. — 各種情況進(jìn)展如何? — 很好。
【比較】go也可用作系動(dòng)詞，意為“變得(如何)”，后接形容詞作表語，表示情況的變化并非人們所期望
的。如: ① he has gone mad. 他瘋了。② fish soon goes bad in hot weather. 熱天魚很快就壞了。③ she went pale at the news. 聽到那個(gè)消息，她的臉白了。④ something has gone wrong with the machine. 機(jī)器出毛病了。
